Petra

Senior director, global supplier management

I am senior director of global supplier management (GSM), primarily responsible for Central & Eastern Europe and the Nordics, accounting for a total of 14 countries. On a daily basis, I lead a strong and motivated regional team, whilst being responsible for various major air and ground transportation supplier agreements and the associated financial results of my region.

My main goals include making sure that my regional team can develop, grow & thrive - but also negotiating the best possible supplier agreements with increased revenue generation for CWT and building strong relationships with supplier customers, working closely with different functions at a global level.

I started my career with CWT in 1992, as an agent based on one of our client’s sites in Frankfurt. Prior to that, I was in Munich, finishing my apprenticeship as a bank clerk, but, with my passion for travel, I realized that the world had more to offer than just counting money. After applying to CWT, I had the opportunity to join a truly global organization with the chance to pursue a career in which I could successfully grow and contribute to my industry.

In 2016, CWT launched a global digital strategy, applying our technological focus and journey to a vision to become the leading digital TMC. I also enjoy working with so many people at a cross-functional and international level.

It really means a lot to me to be part of a performance-driven organization, and to achieve strong results - through responsibility, leadership, teamwork and commitment.

True commitment and passion are required to achieve the best possible results for CWT. Having the opportunity to take the lead on so many fronts is both meaningful and motivating.

"Petra joined CWT in 1992, as a travel counselor based on one of our US client’s sites in Frankfurt, Germany. After two years she was promoted to manager, and then in 1998, contract manager for the overall client’s account in Europe, responsible for 32 offices and 120 employees in Germany, Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands. Petra was also involved with the RFP process working closely with our procurement center in San Antonio, US. In 2000 she took over responsibility for airlines relations.”
